What is seaweed?

They can be found as deep as 250 meters in waters that are particularly clear. Seaweeds are found in all the world’s oceans and seas. Arame seaweed is the mildest tasting of the sea vegetables.

process called aquaculture in China, Korea, and Japan to cultivate Nori, Kombu, and Wakame. Large scale seaweed aquaculture is only found in Asia, where the demand is high for seaweed products and the market continues to grow. This process is low-technology and labor intensive. China produces 59% of the world production of seaweed, Korea 11%, and Japan 10%.

How do I use seaweed in a seaweed diet for seaweed nutrition?
 
Arame seaweed, being the mildest tasting of all sea vegetables, is rich in dietary fiber. It is low in carbohydrates and sodium, and is a valuable source of vitamins and minerals. It is excellent for salads and sautéed vegetable dishes.

In Japan, fish dishes and soups are prepared with kombu (kelp). It can also be used as a vegetable with rice. Powdered kombu can be used in sauces and soups or in the same way curry is used. Some varieties of kombu are used to make an infusion similar to tea.
